About Right Decision Financial Planning

We are?

A Fee Only, Independent, Fiduciary

Right Decision Financial Planning is the retail web presence for MVM Advisors LLC, a Texas-based Registered Investment Adviser (RIA). As an RIA, we are held to the highest standard of client care – a fiduciary standard. As a fiduciary, by law, we must always put our client’s interests first and must fully disclose any potential conflict of interest.

We are not?

Brokers or Registered Representatives

No matter what they call themselves, Stockbroker, Broker (Registered Representative), Investment Advisor, they are not fiduciaries!  The SEC requires these type of advisors to make “appropriate” recommendations and they are required to make you aware of some conflict of interest. To make things even more complicated, many advisors and brokers are dual registered, they are both brokers and RIAs. They are not required to disclose to the client if they are acting as a RIA or a Broker. So it is up to YOU TO ASK!

We are not?

Custodians

We do not directly hold customer funds or securities, the client’s assets are held at their chosen custodian. The custodian is responsible for maintaining the client’s accounts, executing transactions and providing client reporting.

What we do?

We provide investment advisory and financial planning services to our clients. We structure prudent fiduciary processes around planning and investment management. Our relationship with you is guided by two documents:

  • Financial Plan — A living plan, which changes as your life and goals change
  • Investment Policy Statement (IPS) — Investment “Play Book”, a document detailing time horizon, tax policy, liquidity needs, investment constraints, risk tolerance, asset allocation, performance criteria and the duties and responsibilities of both YOU the client and US the advisor.

We monitor the IPS and plan developments on an ongoing basis. We will meet with you, at least, annually to discuss your financial progress.

What does it cost to invest?

When trying to determine the Total Cost of Investing (TCI), you need to look at each piece of the investment puzzle.

The Custodian

A custodian is a financial institution that holds customers’ securities and cash for safekeeping in order to minimize risk. Custodians can be banks, trust companies or broker dealers.

The Investments

An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. Typical investments include exchange traded fund (ETF), mutual fund (Funds) and individual equities (Stocks).

The Advisor

The advisor is the person or company that assists in identifying the types of accounts you need, the amount of money to save, the kinds of insurance you require, how to invest and assists with estate and tax planning.

To calculate your TCI, you need to include the fees and expenses of each:

Custodian Fees + Investments Fees + Advisor Fees = Your TCI

You can start working with RD NOW

RD works with most major custodians, providing our clients with the ability to custody their assets at a custodian, or any combination of custodians, they choose.  Each individual custodian offers unique pricing structures, resources, and products.  Because we are always looking for cutting edge technology and ways to reduce clients’ expenses, most of our clients’ assets are held with Interactive Brokers Group (IB).

Why IB?

  • IB is constantly ranked as one of the lowest cost brokers in the industry — For more info on IB’s rankings click here
  • With IB Lite accounts our clients get unlimited commission free trades for US listed stocks and ETF’s, no account minimums or inactivity fees.
  • With IB Pro accounts our clients with larger account balances get low cost commission on trades and one of the highest interest rates paid on cash held in their accounts.
  • Client accounts held at IB allow RD to trade in Fractional shares, allowing us to put more of your money to work for you.

RD DOES NOT ACCEPT COMPENSATION from any custodian.
